Poltiglia Bordolese
Vorrei parlare delle Poltiglia bordolese visto che da circa 120 anni è impiegata in agricoltura. Il nome deriva dal fatto che fu utilizzata per la prima volta nella città di Bordeaux. E’ uno dei piu’ antichi anticrittogamici esistenti, consentito anche in agricoltura biologica per la sua bassa tossicita’. Per i meno esperti e’ consigliabile acquistare la miscela gia’ pronta, anche se prepararla non e’ particolarmente difficile.
La poltiglia bordolese è una miscela di solfato di rame (a ph acido ) e calce ( sostanza alcalina quindi neutralizzatrice ) che reagendo tra loro danno luogo a più composti; viene preparata sciogliendo 2 Kg di solfato di rame in 100 lt. di acqua e mescolando con una sospensione di 1,3 Kg. di calce in 100 lt. di acqua.
La quantita’ di solfato di rame determina poi il tipo di azione che si vuole svolgere. In caso di poltiglia bordolese leggermente acida o neutra si avra’ una soluzione di effetto rapido ma di piu’ breve durata, mentre una soluzione alcalina durera’ di piu’ nel tempo, ma risultera’ piu’ blanda. Maggiore e’ la percentuale di calce meno la soluzione sara’ acida, fino ad arrivare a essere alcalina.
I prodotti a base di rame possono determinare dei fenomeni fitotossici sulle foglie quali arrossamenti, disseccamenti e caduta precoce; tali fenomeni sono dovuti alla penetrazione del rame nel lembo fogliare e risultano più marcati dove la vegetazione permane più a lungo bagnata.
Sui frutticini di mele o pere e i giovani acini dell’uva le lesioni provocate dal potere caustico della poltiglia si riflettono con la comparsa di ruggine della buccia che soltanto nei casi più gravi può deformare i frutti od impedirne un regolare accrescimento.
E come si usa la poltiglia?: Le colture sulle quali può essere impiegata sono diverse: vite, pomacee, drupacee, olivo, agrumi, nocciolo, fragola, piccoli frutti (ribes, mirtillo, mora, lampone ecc.) barbabietola da zucchero, riso, tabacco, oleaginose, ortaggi più svariati a foglia, frutto e bulbo, floricole, piante ornamentali e forestali.
Lo spettro d’attività risulta essere molto ampio: peronospora, antracnosi, blak rot, corineo, monilia, fusicocco, ruggini, cancri, ticchiolatura, cilindrosporiosi, septoriosi, escoriosi, vaiolatura, alternaria, cercospora sono alcuni dei principali agenti fungini controllati.
Il rame possiede poi importanti azioni secondarie ad es.: oidi, monilie e botritis, in questi casi spesso l’azione non è diretta sul fungo ma avviene attraverso l’inspessimento della pellicola esterna dei vegetali e dei loro frutti.
Molto importante l’azione batteriostatica dei ramati che viene sfruttata soprattutto per impedire o diminuire la diffusione ad es. del temibile Colpo di Fuoco Batterico su Pomacee.
Oggi dopo circa 120 anni da quando nel 1884 il Millardet accertò l’efficacia del rame sulla peronospora della vite i rameici e la poltiglia rimangono pilastro della farmacopea del terzo millenio.
